UNITED FOR DEMOCRACY - Dresden's science and culture invites you

Dresden’s scientific and cultural institutions, under the umbrella of DRESDEN-concept e. V. and the alliance #WOD Weltoffenes Dresden, invite you to participate in four-star parades and a festival of democracy on May 25, 2024, on Dresden’s Altmarkt.

Together, we want to send a clear signal for democracy and our constitutional rights: the dignity of every human being is inviolable, and the voices of minorities are heard. For us, these are things that are taken for granted but they are increasingly under threat. Together, we want to protect these fundamental values of our democratic and open society. The freedom of science and art is fundamental for a society that wishes to overcome the major challenges of our time.

We invite you to join us!

Join us in our commitment to democracy! Starting at 2 p.m., several groups will move to the Altmarkt in four-star trains. A stage program with speeches and music will take place at the Altmarkt.

• 16:00–16:30 Meet a scientist: Zadekia Krondorfer, BMBF-Researchgroup REXKLIMA  and Erik Zignaigo, Fellow at the HAIT, talking about research on political extremism
• 16:30–17:00 Meet a scientist: Maren Hachmeister and Theresa Lindenauer share their insights on „How to research history by talking with people" Gesprächen Geschichte erforschen“
• 17:00–17:30 Meet a scientist: Steffen Kailitz presenting his project "Varieties of Political Regimes" „Regierungsformen der Welt seit 1900“
• 16:00–18:00 „What's your idea of ....? Write to the HAIT!"; a selection of the ideas will be presented on stage auf der Bühne vorgestellt
