PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project network, which was launched on 1st February 2020 and is funded by the Saxon State Ministry for Science, Culture and Tourism (SMWK), examines in four sub-projects the societal experiences and cultural change in East Germany and Central Eastern Europe from 1989 to the present. Within the network's framework, HAIT works together with the Institute of Saxon History and Cultural Anthropology (ISGV), the Sorbian Institute in Bautzen (SI) and the Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe in Leipzig (GWZO). At HAIT, Dr. Maren Hachmeister is conducting a postdoc project on the topic of Voluntariness and Care in Transformation: Local Involvement in the Tri-Border Region. Over the next three years (2020-2022), the project partners will organise joint workshops, conferences and publications. At HAIT, the project network, headed by PD Dr. Friederike Kind-Kovács, fits in with the research field "Transformation in internationally comparative perspective" established in 2018.
This action is partly government-financed on the basis of the budged passed by the Saxon State Parliament.
